Ingredients

For the Stir-Fry

  • 8 oz tempeh, cubed
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp olive or neutral oil

Sesame–Lime Sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)

To Serve

  • Cooked rice or noodles
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

For the Stir-Fry

  • 225 g tempeh, cubed
  • 300 g broccoli florets
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated (≈ 15 g)
  • 2 tbsp oil (≈ 30 ml)

Sesame–Lime Sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (≈ 30 ml)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (≈ 15 ml)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice (≈ 15 ml)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (≈ 15 ml)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar (≈ 5 ml)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (≈ 3 g)
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)

To Serve

  • Cooked rice or noodles
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Steps

  • Prep the sauce: Whisk soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, maple syrup, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and chili flakes. Set aside.
  • Cook the tempeh: Heat oil in a pan or wok. Add tempeh cubes and fry until golden on all sides (5–6 minutes).
  • Add aromatics: Stir in garlic and ginger. Cook 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add vegetables: Add broccoli, onion, and bell pepper. Stir-fry 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Sauce it: Pour in the sesame–lime sauce and toss until everything is coated and slightly thickened.
  • Serve: Spoon over warm rice or noodles and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
